Happy 3 Months Carson!

Carson turned three months this past Tuesday. We took some pictures this morning to mark the occasion. He's getting so big - he can sit in his Bumbo seat and hold his head up all by himself now. BIG BOY!

Enjoy!

Carson loves tummy time now!

Our big boy in his Bumbo seat...he didn't like his jeans, so we were in the middle of changing him here.

Mommy's favorite picture!

He had had enough after we changed him into his overalls...it was thumb suckin' time!

I Love Mommy - Can You Tell?

It was so chilly Monday morning when we left for school! Mommy put me in a cap. She laughed when she took this picture because she realized I had a bib on that told her I loved her AND the cap said it too! Ha!

Belly To Back

I rolled from my belly to my back about 5 times today. It's not the first time, but it is the first time I did it several times in a row. I'm a pro now!

Here's a video of one of the times I rolled over...after this, I kept doing it every time Mommy put me on my belly. I can almost roll from my back to my belly. I can get on my side and then I roll back. It won't be long now!

New Camera

We got a new camera today. My old one went belly-up. I really like it - it takes better pictures than my old one. Here are a few shots of our favorite little subject.
Carson loves his thumb...he puts himself to sleep now.
Another shot of our big boy sucking his thumb...not looking forward to having to break this habit!
Tummy time is a breeze now - Carson is a pro!
You can see how strong he's getting here...he loves to look all around the room.
There's the belly - it hasn't gone anywhere!
We went to see Dr. Wolens this past Thursday because Carson wasn't feeling well. He has either a cold or is teething, poor guy. He's got a runny nose, dry cough, and low grade fever. He weighed 13 lbs 10 oz! We knew he was getting heavy, but wow! Our little boy is growing so fast! Hope everyone is doing well! Love to all!

Kiddie Kandids Pictures

I took my very first pictures today! I will be 12 weeks old tomorrow, and Mommy thought it was about time. We really like the way they came out. I didn't feel like smiling, but I still look super handsome. (or at least that's what Mommy and Daddy said)

Daddy doesn't know, but Mommy made a special picture for him for Valentine's Day. We can't wait to give it to him - he's going to love it!

The photographer kept telling me how cute I was. She's even submitting one of my pictures for a contest - I'm really excited!

Here are some of the pictures I took today. I took one with Wyatt too, but Mommy hasn't had a chance to scan it.
See how strong I'm getting?!

This is the picture we had them frame and put a special note on it for Daddy - can't wait for him to see it!
This is the one that the photographer entered into the contest and Mommy's favorite. She started crying when she saw it because I look like such a big boy!

This is Daddy's favorite - he and Mommy call it my "ladies man" picture

I'm so cute!

A Few Pics Of Our Big Boy

Carson is getting so big! He's doing very well moving to formula so far. We tried the Enfamil Lipil for Spit Up Babies and it seems to be doing the trick. He's actually less gassy on it than he is on my breast milk!

Cherolyn made Carson a really neat blanket with a pacifier attached to it. We call it "paci dog". Well, paci dog was liked by Carson until this weekend when his thumb seems to have replaced pacifiers. Oh no - this is going to be tough to break! Chad and I were both thumb suckers. I'm pretty sure my parents had to bribe me with a Cabbage Patch Kid to make me stop. I was WAY too old to be sucking my thumb. I'm not looking forward to breaking that habit. However, for now, it's too cute. Paci dog has now become somewhat of a "woobie". He holds onto paci dog and sucks his thumb. Here's a shot of him in the swing this afternoon.

He's getting so big. 3 month outfits are already almost too small. If they have feet, he can't wear them. He has HUGE feet. They barely fit in 6 month footie pj's. So, we're trying to find as many outfits as we can that don't have feet. We just keep him in socks all the time. Here's a pic of his new favorite outfit that we just got him yesterday.

As you can see, he still loves to eat - here's a recent shot of the buddha belly!

Chad and I love to sit around with Carson and talk to him. He's such a joy. He adds something so special to our lives. He is constantly doing something that makes us laugh or beam with pride. He is our little miracle who was well worth the wait.

Tummy Time

GiGi and PopPop bought me a really cool tummy time toy for Christmas. I was able to use it for the first time today. I had a really good time - I love it! Here are some pictures of me trying it out.

Daddy showing me how to use my arms to push up and turn myself around. (this thing rotates all the way around so I can play with all sides of the mat)

I'm a pro at this two seconds after Daddy set me up - check me out!

I even learned how to spin myself around to the side!

Pictures My Dad Took

Most of you know my Dad is a photographer. Here are some pictures he took of Carson today. That little mark to the right of Carson's nose is a scratch. Man, their little nails grow FAST! I swear I just clipped them a few days ago, but they are grown out again. Enjoy the pics!

This is Mommy's favorite

You guys are HILARIOUS!

Humph!

Those eyes really are blue - I can't wait to see if they stay blue or change to brown like ours.

Heh heh heh.....

No More Nanny

Well, where do I start? Maria came Monday and had a great day, so we thought. She arrived early, Carson never cried once (Chad was at home so we know this for sure), she played with him all day, she washed two loads of laundry, kept everything clean, etc. Tuesday morning she called my cell phone around 730am. (she's supposed to arrive at 8am) She informed me that she had decided to "not accept the position". I said, "Sweetie, you accepted the position three weeks ago. Are you telling me you have decided to QUIT?!" She said, "If you want to call it that." I said, "So, you are calling me 30 minutes before you're supposed to arrive to tell me you are never coming back?" She said, "Yes, sorry. My kids are sick and it's just too many hours for me to work." Um, didn't she think about that before accepting the position? She knew it would be 10+ hours a day. What the?

Needless to say, I freaked out. I called Chad and just started bawling. He told me he could stay home with him and that I should start calling daycares right away to see if we could get him in. (remember, we just gave up our spot at Primrose Kelliwood a week ago) I called and was told that all spaces were full. However, they could make an exception for us and get us in March 15th. Before then, there were no spots and they were on a waiting list until June for infants. Same story at two other daycares in the area. The last resort was checking with Kompany Kids, the daycare downstairs at my office. I walked in, thinking the worst, and was informed that they had ONE spot left! I was SOOO relieved! I signed up immediately, paid the deposit, application fee, and his tuition for the remainder of the month.

Carson started Kompany Kids on Tuesday morning. I was so scared to put him in daycare, and I am still scared that he's going to get sick and we'll end up back at TCH. But, at this point, we have no other choice. Turns out, I really like it so far. Carson only has four other kids in his class - Luke, Marley, Savannah, and Avery. They are all really precious and healthy. They have three teachers, so each of them get a LOT of one on one care. Carson seems to really like his teachers - Miss Felicia, Miss T, and Miss Hazel. They are very sweet and just love on all the babies in there. I feel even better about the situation because Christi Brooks, our midday DJ on 93Q and my good friend, has her daughter there. She just got transitioned to the next class from the class that Carson is now in. So, Christi was able to give me the skinny on Carson's classmates, the school, and what to expect. I am so appreciative for her advice and knowledge. It's really helped me get through the first week. And, I can't describe the feeling of comfort knowing that he's right downstairs and I can pop in anytime I like. (I've already done so at least two times a day) The most important thing is he likes it. He comes home happy and is still sleeping very well.

On the nanny note, we emailed the agency regarding Maria on Tuesday morning. We finally got a response Wednesday morning. They dropped her from their service and refunded all of our money. They, of course, tried to get us to interview some of their other nannies and we said no. We had a bad experience and we're not sure how long it will take to get the bad taste for nannies out of our mouths.

Carson is getting SO big. He's up to about 13 pounds now. I know this because I've been weighing myself and then weighing myself with him. Ha! 3 month clothes are tight on him and some don't even fit depending on the brand. Cousin Wyatt is loaning Carson some 6 month and older clothes and it's making our lives much easier and cheaper.

Carson can really hold his head up now. Here are a few current pictures of our big boy. Enjoy!

First day of school...I'm not sure what to think about this leaving at 630am stuff!

Second day of school - I like riding to work with Mommy - she sings to me and we listen to my favorite country artist, Carrie Underwood.

Check me out! I am really getting good at this tummy time!

See, I told you I was getting good!

I'm getting soooo big! I love to lay on my back and kick and play!

I held onto my bottle for the first time tonight!

We are slowly weaning Carson (and me) off of breast milk. He's had two bottles of formula today and seems to really be doing well so far. He likes the taste and doesn't seem to be too gassy. Wish us luck!

The AWRT Gala was Thursday night. I did not win my category of Radio Sales Manager, but my good friend Jennifer Mock did. I am really excited for her. She's also expecting a baby in April - how exciting!

I hope everyone is doing well. We'll write soon with more updates and pictures, I'm sure!
