Carson's First Haircut

Carson had his first haircut on Christmas Eve! He hated every second of it!!! Here are a couple of pics of his new spikey "do"....

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas! Carson had a lot of fun, but wasn't much into opening gifts. He opened a few, but then lost interest and started playing with other things. Too funny!

Here are a few pictures of our big boy enjoying Christmas.....

Starting to open my first present...

Doing a pretty dang good job of ripping off this paper....

Woo-hoo! It was a race car! Daddy put it together for me....

I like to push it...not too sure about riding it just yet....

Opening more presents....
I love this tractor! It was actually my Daddy's!

Waiting for my milk on Christmas morning! Check out my new house shoes!

These big cars are great!I love this horse that Carol and Alexis gave me....

It's dinner time at the Turner's! I love to eat!

Relaxing in the swing like a big boy! Seriously - look how big my feet are!

The Kosina Family Christmas picture...yes, finally a family picture!

Our second family picture - we like this one the best!

Carson relaxing in the tub after a long day of opening gifts and visiting with family...
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Love to all!

I'm A Big Boy Now!

Carson's been taking several steps at a time for a few weeks now, but this weekend he really started walking. He can walk really well now. We're so proud! Just a little over a year. Here's a video of him talking on his phone walking towards me tonight. He cracks me up with that phone...he grabs it and holds it up to his cheek/ear and says, "Da?" "Da?!" "DA?!" It is hilarious!

Cathy Frank, one of my close Chi Omega friends, bought Carson a shirt when he was born that says, "Chi O's Are Cool". I have been waiting and waiting to put him in it, and finally...tonight was the night. Here are a few pictures of him sporting his shirt. Too funny.

Hey Mommy! High ten!
Carson deep in thought on Mommy's blackberry....

Oooooh! I know she di-in't!!!
Ha! I thought these were too funny not to share. Hope everyone is well! Love to all!

A Bad Ear Infection

We woke up at 3am Saturday to Carson screaming. Not just crying, but screaming. Nothing would comfort him. I just couldn't possibly bring myself to believe it was an ear infection seeing as though he was just checked last Tuesday, and all was well. He cried from 3am to 9am. He would take little breaks and sleep for about 30-45 minutes, and then wake up crying again. Poor little guy.

Dr. Wolens had us try some numbing drops, and within seconds, it worked. He was able to sleep soundly for a good 4 hours straight. So, he called in some antibiotics. He was pretty lethargic all day Saturday. But Sunday....another story completely! He woke up at 6am ready to play, laughing and talking. We were exhausted. We decided he was well enough to go around town and Christmas shop, and he loved it. He's such a good boy!

We went to see Dr. Wolens today for him to check his ear. Sure enough, he's got a pretty nasty infection in his right ear. He seems to be better though, so we're just going to continue on the same path we've been on.

We're just glad he's out of pain and his fever's gone! That has to be the worst feeling ever...watching your child cry in pain, but not knowing what hurts or how to help them feel better. UG.

A Few Updates...

It's so hard to believe over a year has passed since Carson's birth. He's really growing up, and his little personality is starting to show itself. Every single day brings us a new adventure, a new word, a few more steps, and more. It's such a joy!

We just took Carson in for his 1 year check-up. He is right on track developmentally. I was glad to hear it - I thought he should be saying more, but Dr. Wolens said 3-4 words is great. Funny how he's saying more even today...just two days after our appointment. His little vocabulary consists of:

- MaMa
- DaDa
- Kenzie (prounced - enssseeee)
- Go
- Dog
- Thank you (pronounced - tink tu)

He's really getting big too - here are his stats:

24.6 lbs - 72%
31.5 in - 90%

We transitioned him to whole milk about a month ago, and he's been on regular foods since 10 months. He had 5, yes 5, shots on Tuesday. He cried for a few seconds, but was a champ overall.

He's just such an angel. I just know that if (that is a BIG IF - don't anyone get excited) we decide to have another one, we couldn't possibly get this lucky again.

Here are a few pictures of Carson on Thanksgiving, our new Christmas tree, and what Carson was doing while I was decorating the tree...the little toot.....

Carson and Jaden ready for a wagon ride...

Carson enjoying a snack....
Just hangin' in the wagon, waiting for someone to pull me....
Mommy and Carson in the front yard at Kim's house.....

The new tree - our first artificial! We now have the tree skirt and topper on, I'll have to update with another pic soon.

And here's what Carson did to entertain himself while I decorated the tree....
Yes, literally almost every book was pulled out and on the floor...he had a blast! Hey - it kept him entertained!

Thanks for visiting our blog - come back soon - I will have new pics posted soon!

Some Carson Videos...

Carson had a GREAT time in Jaden and Kinlee's red wagon on Thanksgiving. Here's a video of him going down the small hill behind Kim's house.

Carson just loves to open and close doors. He enjoys the study doors (they are french doors) the most. Here's a video of him going from one door to the other.

Here's another funny video of Carson. He loves to imitate now. He was all about imitating the silly noises I was making....
