Carson's First Cold and RSV

We had to take Carson back to the doctor today. He is very congested and has a pretty bad cough. Sure enough - he has a cold and RSV, or an upper respiratory infection. Poor little guy. Dr. Wolens said it has been very common this winter because the weather keeps changing from hot to cold and cold to hot. He gave us some nose drops to try to loosen up the congestion. So far, it's working pretty well. I just feel so bad for our little guy - I wish there were something I could do to break up that congestion and cure that cough. Only time will do it. He should be all better by next week.

Carson is starting to smile back at me when I talk to him. It is the cutest thing. One time I was feeding him and he pulled back to give me a huge, gum-filled smile. My heart melted and I started to cry.

No matter how many hours I am up, no matter how long it takes to stop his crying, no matter how many dirty diapers I change, no matter how many times I have to suction his nose, no matter any of the things I have to do...I love every minute of it because he is my son. I am so blessed to have this little one in my life. I love him with every piece of my being.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Bath Time Fun

Carson just loves bath time. We use the lavender Johnson and Johnson's shampoo, body wash, and lotion. It really relaxes him. I give him a bath every night before his last nighttime feeding. He is such a calm, good baby. We are so blessed. Here a few pictures of my little angel just after his bath in one of his many hooded towels.

I Love My New Rattle!

MiMi and PawPaw gave me a really cool rattle for Christmas. I like it a lot. I played with it for about 15 minutes today. Here are a couple of pics of me.

Mommy is glad I am doing better today. Yesterday I was in a bad mood and didn't feel too well. We had to go to see Dr. Wolens to make sure I wasn't getting sick. He said I might have a virus (not a serious one), but that I still get a gold star! I weighed 9lbs, 14oz! Dr. Wolens wasn't too worried about me because I am eating well and gaining weight with the best of 'em!

My First Polo Outfit

Today was Mommy's check-up at the doctor. She dressed me in my very first Polo outfit. I really liked it. It had a hood and it really helped me stay warm with the crazy wind gusts.

Mommy had a good visit. She is doing very well. Dr. Putterman told me I had grown so much and he couldn't believe how big I had gotten. I also got to meet Carolina, Mommy's favorite nurse. She said I'm going to look like Daddy. Guess we'll just have to see!

Mommy can go back to work and she can also exercise. She weighs 12 pounds less than she did when she found out she was pregnant with me - wow! She is excited, but keeps telling me she can't wait to get back to running again. Just wait Mommy - I'll have you running before you know it!

Here are a couple of pictures of me in my very first Polo outfit. I have been really sleepy today - I slept pretty much all day except when I have been eating. I am really tuckered out from all the visits we have had around town for the holidays. I'm sure I will have much more energy tomorrow. Look out Mommy!

Christmas With The Kosina's

We had a great Christmas at the Kosina's! It's so much fun watching Jaden and Kinlee rip into their gifts. They are getting so big. We keep talking about how we'll have four kiddos next year including Carson and Baby Blanchat. Three walking for sure and one soon to follow - it will be busy!

Here are a few pictures of the kids and Carson with GiGi and PopPop. He has red eye in pictures, just like I always do. Like mother like son I guess. Ha!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

This picture is classic! Kinlee is VERY protective of her "baby". Jaden kept wanting to play with it and she was having none of that. Ha!

Christmas With Grandma

We just got back from our annual Christmas With Grandma, or in Carson's case, Great Grandma. This year, my parents held the gathering at their house. It was really great to see everyone! We thoroughly enjoyed introducing everyone to Carson and he loved all of the attention.

After everyone had left, my parents just couldn't stand it anymore...they had to have us open Carson's "big" present. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen - it is a beginner set of golf clubs! The clubs are real and it comes with a precious little bag and everything. Chad can't wait for him to get old enough to start playing. We're planning to join Falcon Point so the boys can play at a relatively affordable price.

Here are some pictures from the evening...enjoy!

I'm In Love With My Husband...All Over Again

It's true...I'm guilty of falling in love with Chad all over again. Watching him with Carson just fills my heart with joy, and sometimes, my eyes with tears. He is such a good Daddy. I was sitting here this morning burping Carson and I was reminded of something Chad told me after my second miscarriage. He said, "Making a perfect baby doesn't happen overnight, it takes a long time. Our child will be a superstar whenever it finally arrives." He was right. Chad is so good at reminding me of all of the simple blessings we have. It wasn't until I stopped focusing on how badly I wanted a child that we found out we were pregnant. Every time I worried about something during my pregnancy, no matter how large or small, Chad kept positive and assured me that everything was fine. He is my rock. Not only that, he has been a huge help in our transition from baby less to a family. My broken tailbone makes things more difficult for me. Chad had to wait on me hand and foot when we first came home because moving was excruciating. I want to thank you Chad for everything you have done and will continue to do. You are the love of my life!!!

Slurrp - I LOVE Milk!

Here's a picture of me after I ate dinner. I have a full belly and I am so happy! YUMMY MILK! I'm really starting to turn into a chunky monkey, or at least that's what my Mommy says.

I Am A Big Boy!

Mommy's always telling me how big I am, but I really am big! I went to the doctor for my one month check-up and I weigh 9lbs, 2oz! I gained nearly two pounds in two weeks! I love milk and I eat a lot, so that would explain it. I have been so busy today. I have stayed awake almost the whole day.

The mean nurse at the doctor gave me a shot. It HURT! Thank goodness Mommy was there to wipe my tears and hug and kiss me afterward. It was terrible. I think Mommy might have cried too, but I'm not sure.

I go back to see Dr. Wolens again when I turn two months old. I'm not looking forward to it because I have to get a bunch more shots. OUCH.

Here are some pictures of me from today. Enjoy!

This is me just after eating. I have a milk mustache!

Check out my outfit - it has cowboys on it!

Here I am enjoying time with Aunt Cherolyn - I am laughing at Mommy - she's silly!

Here's me relaxing on Aunt Cherolyn's lap

I am a little mad about going to the doctor, that's why my fists are clenched

Visitors for Carson

Carson had some visitors today! I was so excited to spend some time with Cherolyn, Alana, and Stacy. We had a good time. Here are some pics of Carson and his "aunts".

Blood Test Results

I am thrilled to share that Dr. Wolens called this evening to tell us that everything was normal with Carson's bloodwork. THANK GOD. We are so relieved! Our little guy is nothing short of perfect - we are so blessed! Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Our Little Guy Is One Month Old!

It's hard to believe that 4 weeks ago today I was in labor with our little pumpkin. He is truly a miracle, and we thank God for him each and every day. We are blessed to have a happy baby that loves to eat, sleep, and coo. He is getting so big - we have our one month check-up Wednesday afternoon. I can't wait to see how much he weighs! Here are a few pictures of Carson at one month - enjoy!

I Love Daddy Too!

Daddy helps Mommy out sometimes and burps me after feedings. Here's me relaxing with Daddy with a full belly. Ahhh.....

Our Little Self Entertainer

We are so blessed to have a self-entertainer! Carson played by himself in his crib for two hours today. I took some pictures and shot a short video. I can't believe our little guy is going to be a month old tomorrow! Man, time flies! He's getting big - you can see his little cheeks are filling out and his outfits are actually starting to fit now - before they just swallowed him.

Enjoy!

Me and Mommy

I love my Mommy so much! We spend a lot of time together and I'm not sure what I'm going to do when she goes back to work. I am looking forward to meeting new friends at Primrose, but I will miss my Mommy for sure.

A New Look For Our Blog

I changed some things around on the blog, added some things, and revamped a few things. I like the new look. Thank you to Emily for turning me on to mylivesignature.com. It's really neat!

We are having several visitors this weekend - Alana, The Kosinas, and Brenda. I can't wait to visit with them, and Carson can't wait to show them how big he's gotten. I'll post some new pics of him this weekend.

Hope everyone is well!

Cute Gifts For Carson

We received two of the cutest gifts today for Carson! One was from my brother in law Jeremy's parents, and the other was from my good friend Cathy Frank. Cathy was one of my Chi Omega advisors in college. She gave us a bib rooting for the Cougars, an owl burp cloth (the owl is Chi Omega's mascot if you will), and a precious t-shirt. Jeremy's parents gave us a beautiful monogrammed blanket and outfit. Do they know me or what? I LOVE monograms! Here is a pic of both gifts...too cute! Thank y'all!
