So much going on...

Some of you may have noticed I haven't updated the blog in a while. (ahem - Mary Gayle and Lynly) Well, there are many reasons why....

First of all, Chad's Dad went in for a routine check-up when we returned from Italy. They found a spot on his lung, so they did further testing. After a biopsy, we learned it was cancerous. He went in for emergency surgery shortly thereafter. He made it through like a champ! He was in the hospital for about a week, and now he's at home recovering. He has now survived cancer three times and beat it. There is no need for chemo after the surgery because they did not find it in his lymph nodes.

Second, Chad hurt his back terribly. One weekend, he was moving around several cases of champagne. I kept telling him to stop, but he insisted on organizing his new "stash". That night, he realized his torso was crooked. He immediately went to the ER where they administered muscle relaxers and told him to get to the doctor asap. So, he went the next day. After every type of scan you can have, a spinal tap, and more...we learned he has two ruptured discs that are pressing on his sciatic nerve. This is what was causing him to look like he needed a V8. After three rounds of steroids and three doctors later, he is finally able to get up and down without straining or groaning like an 80 year old.

Third, my Grandmother went in for a routine exam. They found a lump in her breast. (she is a breast cancer survivor) After she went through a biopsy, we learned the cancer was back. She decided to go with a double mastectomy so she could beat that cancer once and for all. She had her surgery yesterday, and is doing well. The doctors say so well in fact, that she might be able to go home tomorrow. She's amazing!

Fourth, a good friend of ours was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. I know some of you noticed I added a new blog to my list and have been keeping up with David's progress along with us. David and Chad worked together at Glazer's for years, and we have all been friends and stayed in touch ever since then. David is doing well thus far and we know he will beat this cancer! He has the support of his wonderful wife Jennifer, his two kiddos Aiden and Audrey, a close family, and so many friends. Please help us say prayers for David and his family.

So, hopefully that will explain why I haven't posted anything in so long, and get me off the hook. Love to all!
