We woke up at 3am Saturday to Carson screaming. Not just crying, but screaming. Nothing would comfort him. I just couldn't possibly bring myself to believe it was an ear infection seeing as though he was just checked last Tuesday, and all was well. He cried from 3am to 9am. He would take little breaks and sleep for about 30-45 minutes, and then wake up crying again. Poor little guy.
Dr. Wolens had us try some numbing drops, and within seconds, it worked. He was able to sleep soundly for a good 4 hours straight. So, he called in some antibiotics. He was pretty lethargic all day Saturday. But Sunday....another story completely! He woke up at 6am ready to play, laughing and talking. We were exhausted. We decided he was well enough to go around town and Christmas shop, and he loved it. He's such a good boy!
We went to see Dr. Wolens today for him to check his ear. Sure enough, he's got a pretty nasty infection in his right ear. He seems to be better though, so we're just going to continue on the same path we've been on.
We're just glad he's out of pain and his fever's gone! That has to be the worst feeling ever...watching your child cry in pain, but not knowing what hurts or how to help them feel better. UG.
