Anyway, he definitely has RSV and it could be turning into asthma. He now has a wheeze when he's breathing, so he is on breathing treatments every 4-6 hours. Bless his heart. We did a breathing treatment in the office and it seemed to help. Dr. Wolens wasn't completely satisfied, so he did a deep suction on him. He snaked a tube up his nose and down his throat into his chest to get as much phlegm out as he could. I could not take his crying (I was bawling), so Chad stayed in there with him for that procedure. They got quite a bit out and he was immediately relieved and much more calm. Bless his little heart.
We got home and he ate much better, even though he was still pretty congested. We're going to try giving him the treatments every 6 hours first because I don't want to over medicate the little guy. He's not coughing near as much as he was before, so that's good. He is also wide awake whereas he has been very lethargic all day.
Please pray that he gets better soon. We feel so terrible for him having to start out this way. He's had a pretty rough last couple of weeks. We are both ready for him to get well so he can feel better.
Love to everyone!
